Big Boys and Their Toys 2005

Wickedmag.com covered Big boys and their toys 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona. The name says it all. I arrived on the third day, and of course headed straight for the sand rails, motor cycles and four wheel drives. I am attracted to just about anything that has an internal combustion motor in it pushing the limits to deliver maximum speed, horse power, and torque.

The one unusual thing I did happen to see was a mens’ skin care area. I am still getting used to wearing sun screen. I haven’t lost any sleep worrying whether to have my eye brows waxed or a facial before the big weekend in the dunes(I’m bad). Moving on, the other odd thing that is really popular with the ladies is the sugar babies. They are cute but something about a rat on my shoulder that fits in my pocket and uses my shirt for a litter box does not really appeal to me.

R.F.R. racing brought a couple of sweet sand cars. My favorite is RF-5. It starts at $39,500 with a LS-1, 22 inches of travel. Check them out at www.rfr1motorsports.com and see which one is a fit for you.

Flying high had a hummer 2 with an extreme lift, the underside chromed out. I don’t think that one will ever see the offroad lifestyle. Gary Glova created the first Big Boys and their toys Expo eight years ago; looking back, he obviously knew what he was doing. This year’s Expo was the largest and had the broadest spectrum of products.
