Thanksgiving weekend the population doubles in Imperial County, California thanks to hard core dunners and their families. These fanaticsĀ leave their cozy homes and spend three days tasting sand in every bite of their Thanksgiving feast.
This Thanksgiving year was quiet in comparison to previous years. There were less citations and arrests due to the increase in law enforcement. This change has been a positive one, but has not been without a cost. The freedom of dunning at night on the big hills ends as a assortment of law enforcement form a gauntlet of vehicles slowly moving forward sweeping everyone out, chase vehicles waited to corral any strays. Wickedmag will be their ringing in the new year.
