HEMMINGS VINTAGE CAR RALLY COMING TO NEVADA JUNE 23rd

Nevada, MO — Area citizens are invited to attend the Hemmings Vintage Car Rally on Tuesday, June 23rd when it passes through Nevada, MO. This competitive car race will be stopping on the Nevada Courthouse Square between 11:30am and 12:30pm.

This race is not only a competitive rally for the vintage car owners, but for the participating towns along the rally. Each town selects a theme and competes for a prize. Nevada selected the theme “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” and will be showcasing two local baseball teams, the Nevada Griffons, and the Nevada Red Sox.

You are invited to visit and welcome over 50 vintage cars as they arrive on the north side of the square, which will be blocked off for the festivities that day. The cars are early 1900’s roadsters, travel and sports cars. Wear your favorite team’s sports clothing, bring the family, cheer for the drivers and marvel at the cars as they arrive at 11:30am. There will be giveaways for the early viewers while supplies last. The Novak Baseball Museum, located on the square, will be open to the public from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on that day only. Families and car buffs can enjoy the cars and spend some time on the square shopping and visiting the local restaurants. “Even if you have just a few moments, the cars from the early 1900s will make for an interesting lunch time and are something you don’t get the chance to see every day.” Glenda Crowder, Nevada Tourism Coordinator.

THE HEMMINGS CHALLENGE Vintage Car Rally & National Points Finals Championship is a timed / speed / endurance rally for qualified classic, vintage and antique automobiles. This world class, 5 day, cloverleaf style event is designed to test the driving and navigational skills of rally teams from across the nation. This years host towns are Nevada, Carthage, Warsaw, and Lebanon, Missouri, and Mountain Home, Arkansas.
