King of the hammers 2009

This was our first time covering king of the Hammers. This race is very unique in that it has hard core rock crawling, something that we are accustom to seeing on the courses of We Rock. KOH also has plenty of desert racing so no matter what you want it is here. The lake bed that is base camp turns into a makeshift town, where just about everyone knows there neighbor. The race starts at base camp and runs through a rock crawling section over some falls then back around the camp and into the mountains. We went to four different spots that were easy to see what was going on, and who is doing what. There is a large portion of track that is better seen from the air, and KOH had a helicopter filming during the race. I can’t wait to see the DVD when it is available!

We will be back next year with a larger crew to give this race the coverage it deserves. Below are the scores and names of the 2009 KOH.
