The 2007 season has officially begun!!! W.E. Rock’s annual “Put Up or Shut Up” was held Jan 5th-7th, and it was one to remember. We all know that at every event there is at least one course that just seems to be a little bit tougher than the rest. Well this time there was an untamable course. A4 was not completed by a single driver!!! 37 was the lowest score on this course. To my knowledge this was only second time in history of this happening!!! Also, there was not a single competitor to finish the event with a negative score! If this is a sign of what 2007 is going to be like, WOW!! This shall be an interesting season.
Well if you don’t know, “Put Up or Shut Up” is a little different from all of the other events. There are no separated classes and everyone runs the same courses. A run what you brung event. This usually makes for some very exiting stuff to happen. Like Mike Hulinsky scoring a 0 on B2 in a Rhino RTV. B2 was claiming rigs that run in the Super Modified class. Or how about Dean Bulloch’s -4 on A3 where 17 out of the 22 competitors didn’t even finish. Dean drives a Modified Stock rig. (The middle class)
For being the first event of the season, you would think everyone would tone it down a couple notches. But people tend to crank it up because this event is all about the bragging rights. There was carnage on every course throughout both days. But after all the dust had settled Tracy Jordan was atop the leader board going into the Shootout. Followed by the Aussie Peter Antunac in 2nd, Robert McKinney in 3rd,”BZ” Bruce Zeller in 4th, bill Kreigel in 5th, and Dean “The Iceman” Bulloch in 6th.
Only three people even completed the Shootout course. Dean Bulloch timed out as did the Aussie Peter Antunac. Robert McKenney had engine problems and didn’t even get to attempt the course. “BZ” scored an unbelievable -8. That was 19 better than Tracy Jordan and 27 better than Bill Kreigel. But even a score like that wasn’t enough for the win. All Tracy Jordan had to do was get 2 progression gates for the victory. Victory was Tracy’s today! After coming so close last year, this years victory must have been sweet!
Thanx again goes out to the entire Klien family for another great event! Lil’ Rich you are a sick man! Those courses were insane bro!! Round one of the Western Nationals is in Vegas so we hope to see ya’ll there.
