UROC’S Super Crawl V

offroad55picSuper Crawl V took place this year on Dec. 2nd-3rd at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix AZ. Teams from countries as far as Japan and Australia came to play on the rocks of this manmade course.

This weekend all eyes were on 2005 Super Crawl champ Tracey Jordan. Two weeks prior to Super Crawl during the Baja 1000 Tracey was in an accident that rendered him unconscious. While rounding a turn, the vehicle Tracey was in lost control and rolled down a three hundred foot cliff!! Thankfully nobody was seriously injured in the accident. This didn’t seem to faze him one bit though, Tracy was towards the top of the leader board all weekend long. He did so well in fact, that going into the Shootout, Tracey only needed two gates for the victory. Needless to say, Tracy claimed his second Super Crawl Championship in a row!! Jason Scherer came in a very close second and Jason Bunch rounded out the podium.

In the Modified Stock class’ Shootout there were plenty of champions. Brian Errea, who has placed strong throughout the entire 2006 season, was without a doubt on top of his game this weekend! Errea held off everyone and claimed his first Championship with a commanding victory over past champions Steve Bulloch and Dean Bulloch. (No relation) I’m sure we will be seeing a lot more from Brian Errea in the 2007 season.

We had a great time here in Phoenix during Super Crawl V. Ranch put on a great event that kept everyone on their toes all weekend long!! Even the crane operator who was helping with recovery got to experience some action first hand. While recovering a rig he rolled the crane!!! This stop the action for a long time on Saturday!

Congrats to all of the winners and we can’t wait to see ya’ll next year!!
