Water Methanol injection, Smart insurance for your Ride!

Water Methanol injection, Smart insurance for your Ride!

Want to prolong the life of your diesel engine? Two words for you water meth! that’s right water methanol injection. This will help keep your EGTs in check. We have a 6.5 TD that GM put in trucks in the 90s. This motor is notorious for overheating and cracking the block or the heads. We have been lucky with this old boy. 220 thousand miles and never cracked the engine open.
We did not want to push our luck any further so we called Rodney from Alcohol Injection Systems.

Rodney let us know they have a new trunk mount system http://www.alcoholinjectionsystems.com/a73/All-New-3-Gallon-Competition-Trank-Mount-Tank/article_info.html that saves loads of time the pump comes pre mounted in a black cell. You can forget about finding a place to mount the pump and tank separate. Bolt that baby down in the rear of the truck bed trunk of car or in our case the back cargo area of our suburban.

We picked left rear of the cargo area. We started by running one power wire from the boost switch back to the tank, then a ground wire from the motor on the tank to the frame. We channeled the high pressure hose that was provided with the kit down the middle of the frame to keep it out of harm’s way when off roading.
Now that the tank is mounted and wired we then removed the upper intake manifold and drilled the holes to tap for the boost switch and the spray nozzles. This took about .5 of an hour from start to finish including the re install of the upper intake manifold.
Next we connected the high pressure hose from the tank to a one-way valve then to a tee that fed both spray nozzles, one nozzle was installed pre turbo and one was post turbo.

Now that our plumbing was done we ran a power wire from the accessory side of the fuse box that is only hot when the vehicle is running, to the boost switch. We then jumped the power across the boost switch while the nozzles where hooked to the hose but not yet installed in the intake, this was done to bleed the system and check it out.
We then hooked it up poured in some blue juice (windshield wiper solvent) grabbed an Allen wrench and hit the road to adjust the sensitivity of the boost switch. We had to pull over a few times and pop the hood to adjust the boost switch but we finally decided to leave it a 9 PSI. Nine psi is the point where during towing conditions we see the EGTs shooting up.

We keep the three gallon tank full at all times and the system is live for everyday driving, I check it once an week when I fill the tank with diesel. We towed a 21 foot car hauler with our 1972 FJ40 on it from Arizona to Colorado. The trip went great when the pump kicked on it not only kept our EGTs down but the methanol gave us more power (sweet).
The difference from running with the water meth on to not having it on made a difference of about 182 deg, now that’s huge for such an inexpensive standalone product. The alternative was to put an intercooler on our vehicle which can easily run over a grand.

I would recommend this product to any one that is concerned with the longevity of their motor when EGTs are a problem, cooling the air fuel mixture before hitting the cylinders is a remarkably simple and inexpensive mod. Don’t wait to see if you damage anything, if you race or tow or four wheel in the dunes, take it from us better to take care of the problem before you have to replace the motor.

Thank you for your information and a great product. Check them out at www.alcoholinjectionsystems.com say hey to Rodney when you call from us.

AIS Stage 1 Competition Trunk Mount Water Alcohol Injection System

Here it is for the ultimate in ease of installation and convenience! Our Stage 1 adjustable boost activated trunk mount system is our most popular system ever and for good reason. With an installation time as quick as 60-90 minutes you can quickly begin receiving the benefits of a water methanol injection system without the head aches and complicated 4-6 hour installation as do our competitors systems. Best of all, it’s completely upgradeable, allowing you to upgrade to the digital progressive controller anytime in the future.

Lower Air Temps By 50-250+ Degrees & Increase Power 10-15% With ONLY Windshield Wiper Fluid!
That’s right! Using nothing more then windshield wiper fluid you can quickly achieve the benefits of a water

methanol injection system. Best of all, it’s very easy to locate just about anywhere in the states and cost only $2.00-$3.00 per gallon. But not just any windshield wiper fluid will do. You’ll need to buy the windshield wiper fluid that is rated for negative 20 degrees or greater below zero. It is only this windshield wiper fluid, which contains a 50% content or greater of methanol. Using strictly windshield wiper fluid you can expect to see a 50-250+ degree drop in air intake charge temperatures on supercharged and turbocharged engines with horsepower gains ranging from 10-15% are common. (temperature drops and horsepower gains vary depending on engine build, type supercharger or turbocharger used, amount of boost and intercooled or non-intercooled)

110+ Plus Octane With ONLY Wind Shield Wiper Fluid!
Thats right! Using nothing more then windshield wiper fluid as listed above you can effectively increase your 91-93 octane pump gas by 10-20+ points dramatically increasing your fuels octane rating well over 100+ octane. No need for expensive racing fuels which can cost as much as $16.00 per gallon at some race tracks. Windshield wiper fluid cost’s only $2.00-$3.00 per gallon. Even better our 1.5 gallon trunk mount container will last up to 2-3 weeks before needing to be refilled on a typical 500-600 horsepower supercharged or turbocharged motor costing you only pennies more per gallon to have 100+ octane.

Water Alcohol/Methanol Injection = Cheap Insurance For Your Motor
You wouldn’t drive your car with out car insurance. Now there’s insurance for your motor. Protect your motor and the investment you have in your motor with proven lower air intake charge temperatures by 50-250+ degrees and increased octane by 10-20+ points. Together this will reduce and help eliminate engine damaging detonation. It’s cheap insurance for your motor.
