City Guide’s sleek redesign makes it even easier to find local hot spots.

In 2009, Scion and XLR8R joined forces to introduce the City Guide app for iPhone and Android. This collaborative effort allowed users to navigate editors picks for the hottest bars, restaurants, stores, events and more. Now, finding the coolest and most unusual places your city has to offer has never been easier with the latest version of this popular application!

Completely redesigned and simplified, the new City Guide app offers fewer screens to navigate and more intuitive access to the information contained within, as well as new features that include:

New planning view, where the user can create a plan while browsing information. Plans can be shared with friends via Facebook, Twitter and email directly from your phone.
Browse listings by tabbed categories, both in a list and map view.
Filter results with a pop-up screen that allows the user to narrow by distance from current location, day of the week and time of day.
Weekly updated events in 16 US cities, and growing: Atlanta, Austin, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, Portland, St. Louis, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.

To get the free City Guide application, log on to http://www.scion.com/cityguide, or from your handset, simply type “XLR8R Scion” into the App Store or Android Marketplace to install directly. Once you’ve installed the City Guide app, just choose a city, what you’d like to do and when you’d like to do it, and an extensive list of the best shopping, eating and music-related activities will be at your fingertips. You can also view picks on a scalable map and create a shareable plan from your selections.

Inspired by XLR8R magazine’s annual City Guide print editions, the City Guide feature hundreds of hand-selected locations and events from 15 US cities, with more cities added every month. The City Guide is a discriminating resource for planning a trip or just figuring out what to do tonight, filling in the cultural gaps left behind by mainstream guides.
